Representation of youth issues in the constitution building process through young CA member (Phase ii)

· Engaged the youth across the country in the constitution making process

· Got information on the overall constitution making process, constitution calendar set by the CA, importance of the constitution making in time and the consequences of delay in constitution making.

Engaging with C.A members to accelerate progress of MDGs in Nepal

· Members /parliamentarians oriented about MDGs in respect to global, regional and national context

· 12 CA members/ parliamentarians became MDG “leaders against poverty”

· The parliamentarians advocated the government and its line agencies towards fulfilling millennium development goals

· The parliamentarians raised voices on government actions/plans and implementations, educated their constituency/local people on MDGs and their effective participation,

· The parliamentarians inquired government/Nepal Planning Commission on MDGs plans and progress, hindering factors and discussed on ways to collaborate parliament and government

Representation of youth issues in the constitution building process through young CA member(Phase i)

· A well functioning office has been established to carry out the programme events. Youth issues were identified, collected, prioritized to be discussed and included in new constitution draft and the policy level documents.

· Common platform was created for raising youth issues; consensus built among young CA members and youth leaders having different political ideologies.

· National and International practices on including youth issues in constitution were explored

· Information on various national and international constitutions; various political parties’ concern on youth was availed for discussion in various meetings and for youth CA members/ constitutional drafting committees

· Reports of all meetings, workshops and radio programs were prepared and disseminated to youth CA members, CA member/ and constitutional drafting committees

Constituent Assembly elections- Ensuring Youth Participation and Representation (pre phase)

· Proved a powerful tool to encourage major political parties to provide seats for youth to contest in CA elections.

· The leaders heard the voices of the youth concerning youth participation and conveyed such voices to the party.

· Proved as important vehicle for many prominent youth leaders to get tickets from their respective parties, under both direct and proportional system.

· Proved as important platform for youth leaders, activists, civil society actors, media persons to make party leaders aware of the need for alternative leadership.

· Leaders aware about value based politics in future in order to ensure safe and prosperous days ahead for the future generation of Nepal.

· Provided beneficial in contributing to the solidarity among seven parties alliance and its sister wings. The program also complemented to the broader objective of spreading awareness about the significance of holding CA elections for establishing federal democratic republic Nepal.

Connecting Young Leaders Program

· Continue various interactions among different professional groups and young leaders of different political parties about social, economic, political issues regarding local, national and global contexts
